And it sure was.
Where to start.... This book would be sick if it wasn't so obviously played for the satire and dark humor of the story. Picture four horror writers having a great time outdoing each other, trading off scene by scene. You can almost hear them cackling in the background as the "shock value" bar goes higher and higher. I was amazed at how cohesive the finished product was. Despite being written in installments by four different writers, the narrative flows. In fact, there was clearly a synergistic effect because no one author could have thought of all of these incredibly twisted scenes and images.
I will most likely never be able to watch a clown perform at a children's party ever again....
If you think that you will love it, or you think that you will hate it---you are probably right.
